Whee, here’s wing #2 of the Night in Karazhan adventure for Hearthstone, for those few of you out there who haven’t completed it yet. I hear most players find it under-challenging.

Romulo and Julianne‎ – Julianne is a Mage whose power is to summon Romulo, who makes her immune. So you’ll have to regulate him. The whole rest of her deck is taunts and stalls too. With Shaman Midrange I found it quite easy – just be sure to have a way to zap pesky out of the way and Julianne goes down in a couple charges. [Doomhammer] worked amazing here.

# Cards: Pompous Thesbian, Onyx Bishop

Big Bad Wolf‎ – He makes your minions be 1/1 and cost 1 – it’s a static ability. Note that this ability doesn’t apply to summoned totems, or minions generated through spells or other means. So guess what, Midrange Shaman was my answer here too. Wolfy starts at only 20 life too, so plain old [Lightning Bolt] to the face does wonders too. Doomhammer with a side order of [Rockbiter Weapon] goes great with Wolf too.

If you beat a Wolf in battle, does that make you a Little Pig or Little Red Riding Hood?

# Cards: Kindly Grandmother, Arcane Giant

The Crone – Wow, who did the voice for the Crone? Run away with me, you demented stunted hag! You get a 0/10 Dorothee to work with, and can place minions to either side to gain boosts. Meanwhile Crone plays lots of stealth minions and doesn’t seem to accomplish much. And it’s a triple win for Midrange Shaman! A [Tuskarr Totemic] to Dorothee’s left popped out a Totem Golem, and rained on the witch’s parade from there.

# Cards: Wicked Witchdoctor, Moat Lurker, Swashburglar, Barnes

Class challenges: Warlock vs. Romulo and Julianne‎, and Paladin vs. Big Bad Wolf. Both these matches are disgustingly easy. Just do stuff. It’s almost impossible to lose with a turn 2 Onyxia. Warlock starts out seeming a little unfair, but just gain some tempo and it’s a picnic.

# Cards: Kara Kazham!, Silvermoon Portal

And now for card reviews…

[Pompous Thespian] – Just about ready to dust this one already. Vanilla [Bloodfen Raptor] isn’t a good card, and I don’t see how giving him taunt makes him that much better.

[Onyx Bishop] – I’ve seen a couple Priest decks running this guy already. Funny, for all the complaints about how Priest is the underpowered class, I sure do run into a lot of Priests in both Casual and Ladder. Anyway, count off the 2 mana for [Resurrect] on a stick and this is a 3/4 for 3; almost enough to grudgingly call good. Still doesn’t make up for [Purify] though.

[Kindly Grandmother] – Yay, Hunter, my current favorite class, gets yet another awesome deathrattle! Well worth the slot. Remember [Haunted Creeper]? This is a worthy callback.

[Arcane Giant] – Well, obviously good in Warlock Zoo. Perhaps the best cost-shrinking minion yet.

[Wicked Witchdoctor] – Highly suspect. Four mana just seems to be no good in Shaman, since [Flamewreathed Faceless] is taking up that spot. A random basic totem is something we already get with a hero power we ditch to Sir Finley first chance we get. If it did a [Tuskarr Totemic] impression it would possibly be better, but as it is this one’s sitting on the bench for now.

[Moat Lurker] – It’s sort of good in Reno decks? [Stampeding Kodo] is already played, even though there’s hardly anything it hits these days. Lurker gets you a no ifs-ands-or-buts target on a minion, but its deathrattle downside is painful. Though if you pack work-arounds such as bouncing or silencing it, it gets better. To be decided.

[Barnes] – Crazy, of course. Numerous decks have already been jamming this into everything they can think of. Excellent for decks with a high count of status effects. I can see it defining its own archetype.

[Swashburglar] – An [Undercity Huckster] on a no-funnel-cakes diet. I would say ‘meh’, but at one mana, any body that puts an extra card in your hand, no matter its origin, is still extremely good value.

[Kara Kazham!] – Total of six power and health on three bodies for five mana. A bargain, but Warlock decks are spoiled rotten already and at the five-drop spot you’d rather be playing [Doomguard], if you’re running five-drops at all. Color me underwhelmed.

[Silvermoon Portal] – Paladins have already been jamming these out, and while they seem to have a nice tempo play, I’m not exactly overwhelmed. Four mana is a tight pinch point between [Blessing of Kings], [Consecration], [Murloc Knight], and [Truesilver Champion]. paladins have too much of their good stuff crammed at the four-mana mark.
See you next week with a brand new Karazhan wing!

Big Brother Double EVICTION IN one week !

Another eviction night not just one but two walked out the door on Thursday night. Now watching Z walk out was a bit a surprise I was hoping Michelle sorry she was getting on my last nerve some there at the same time I felt bad for her after Victor's speech on nomination day.

Now I missed the second person walking out because we had a storm that night ha ha just in time and I Found out later it was Bridgette who walked out which again I didn't want to see her go yet I wanted Michelle to go to jury. Didn't happen that way. First HOH for Corey which was short lived and then veto he won didn't use and out the door went Bridgette.

That same evening HOH went to VICTOR who won that put up Paulie and Corey. This week has been interesting. Paulie from what I am hearing from feeds and folks that he is done with the game now I think it maybe him playing on emotions with others not sure but I don't and can't believe he is done in any way or form.

Victor won the VETO which was one of those comps that they could keep it and turn down something else type deal. He kept the veto not sure if he used it yet haven't heard. Allot is going on in the house as I write this which I am a bit late but been dealing with life myself in all good though.

Here is a highlighted information and from the big brother site so enjoy may your day be great one or evening where ever in the world you may live.

Be well and be great!

Big Brother Network: "‘Big Brother 18’ Spoilers: Weekend Round-Up Week 8" and 5 more

The Big Brother 18 Houseguests were busy this weekend with competitions and betrayals which kept the Live Feed running hot. Just the way we like it! Now we have the latest spoilers on everything that’s been going on to show us which way things are going next.
Nicole & Victor together on BB18
With another HoH cliffhanger the game was left in the lurch as HGs waited to see which side of the new game divide would take control. The rest of the season’s direction could all be decided this week which put the pressure on these HGs to deliver.
Big Brother 18 Spoilers – Week 8 Round-Up:
Head of Household: Once the backyard was cleaned up the HGs went outside for a quick knock-out style competition. Paulie and Nicole were playing on one side against Victor, Paul, James, Natalie, and Michelle. Those are tough odds so things weren’t a surprise when Victor pulled off the win to become the new HoH. It was time for him and Paul to pick a side. Read more >>

Nicole won the viewers’ vote so she won’t be going near the Block this week but she does have to wear a silly orange safety themed costume. It’s pretty funny. Unfortunately for Nicole she was already deemed safe this week which means she won’t be eligible for next week’s prize when she could be in danger again. Read more >>

Sure enough he took a swing and it shocked the targets. They knew it might happen, but never thought Victor would really do it. This has all lead to several heated confrontations in the house. Paulie is the top target this week which meant his game could all come down to the Veto. Read more >>

It wasn’t his game to win this time and the top prize went to Victor after the final round came down to him and James. Victor encouraged James to take the cash prize while offering to take the Veto himself and secure his nominations. Now Victor is in complete control this week and it looks like Paulie is on his way out the door. Read more >>

Corey will need to keep an eye on Paulie to make sure he doesn’t flip things but right now there doesn’t appear to be a path to safety for Paulie with five votes out there this week.

Big Brother 18 Houseguests faced the prize swap Power of Veto competition on Saturday and it left half of the players with punishments set to annoy and tease while the other half walked away with some pretty good grabs.
Corey goes patriotic on Big Brother 18
With the crapshoot Veto comp at hand the houseguests had the chance to win their way up to cash prizes or be sent off to costume life and that’s rarely a good thing, but at least one of them looks ready to live that up.
First the good news for Houseguests who did well was a Veto for Victor, $5,000 for James, and a 2-person trip to anywhere in the US for Nicole (which she can trade in for $5K). The other three players weren’t so lucky.
Paulie “won” American Pie which requires him to bake an apple pie every time he gets a musical cue to do so. This was supposed to last all season, but with his game’s pending demise that might not be too long so he anticipates them ramping up the frequency. Paulie isn’t happy about this punishment and suggested he may opt to take the penalty vote instead of complying. Sportsmanship.
Note: We have yet to see Paulie make any pies. Not sure if he’s refusing or if BB has delayed it.
Corey has a patriotard and is dressed up in sort of an Uncle Sam attire with a bald eagle on one hand and a sign for Zingbot on the other. Remember the theme of this Veto comp was “Zingbot For President” so these are all related. Corey has to wear this costume all week and keep at least one of those items on his hands even when in the shower.

He arrived dressed in all black with suit and tie plus sunglasses and one of those little ear pieces. Paul has to respond to “Red Alert!” announcements and run to 5 or 6 checkpoints, shout all clear, and frisk the HGs. He even has to do the frisking in the middle of the night which will wake the other HGs. Ouch. They won’t like that. Paul also mentioned he has to keep the glasses on all day and can only remove them for bed. For alerts called while in the shower he’ll have to jump out, put on a towel and his tie, then run the required steps.

Corey isn’t thrilled about his and was already forgetting to keep his items with him. Hopefully Paulie comes around and can participate with his punishment to play the game.
What do you think of the punishments and prizes from this weekend’s competition? If you had to pick a punishment which one would you take on?

Big Brother 18 is back tonight with the cliffhanger results from last week’s HoH competition to control this week’s nominations that pitted HGs against one another in knockout style comp.
Paul versus Paulie in the HoH competition on BB18
The latest HoH comp was held late in the night after the Double Eviction had winded down but the fog of betrayal still weighed heavily on Paulie’s mind after seeing Zakiyah sent out the door. Now was his chance to turn the tables back after Corey’s HoH win during the night’s rapid events.
Houseguests faced off in a return of the emoji style comp like last year’s post-DE battle where they had to spot items on a screen and be the first to hit the right button. Looks like Benny the Squirrel was front and center for this installment’s theme of “Hollywood Squirrels.” Check out the Big Brother 18 sneak peek pics featuring the knock out pairings.

bb18-epi25-hoh-comp-01 bb18-epi25-hoh-comp-02 bb18-epi25-hoh-comp-03 Looks like we’ll have plenty of drama in tonight’s episode too as we’ve been promised footage of the fighting that took place leading up to the live show. Julie Chen mentioned there were extremely heated shouting matches and HGs have noted Paulie was raging so this should be very interesting.
The footage in the the preview clip below is from the night before the latest eviction though but if we have time to fill then they could go back and use it. If they do then it won’t be very flattering for Paulie who found himself in hot water with James and Bridgette for his body shaming comments against Natalie.
If you can’t wait until tonight’s Big Brother show then check out our spoilers with the HoH results, who was put on the block, and even who won the Power of Veto last night. Big moves ahead for the Houseguests this week.

Veto Day in the Big Brother 18 house brought a lot of emotions for the Houseguests as they prepared to take on Paulie in another competition where his stats have them worried. By the end of the night the PoV was awarded and so were a stack of punishments that are definitely going to annoying their recipients.
Paulie and Corey are feeling down on BB18
Find out who won the Veto and who will be dressed up in some goofy costumes this week thanks to the Zingbot as the Houseguests prepare for the next eviction and their plans ahead.
If you’ve got the Live Feeds (Free Trial) then you can watch all of these moments with the Flashback feature to go back and watch those important conversations or funny scenes you may have missed.

Both guys agree that Michelle would be their ideal F3.

4:50 PM BBT – James and Natalie discuss how Victor gave up the $5K to James so Victor could secure the Veto this week. It came down to the two of them.
5:40 PM BBT – Feeds return after an extended break. Punishments discussion. Corey has a unitard coming his way. Paul has the waypoints punishment. Paulie has to bake a pie.
5:45 PM BBT – Michelle camtalks and asks for viewers to send her, Victor, or Paul the next care package.
6:05 PM BBT – Nicole is relieved that Paulie didn’t win since that would have been the end of Corey’s game. Nicole was surprised when Paulie took the Veto away from Corey. She and Corey feel good that Corey will stay since they’ll have her vote along with Michelle and Natalie.
6:10 PM BBT – Corey and Paulie are hoping they can convince Victor to take Corey down so Paulie has a chance to stay.
6:15 PM BBT – Corey is confused why he and Nicole are considered such a big showmance (based on Zingbot’s comments) but Nicole is really excited about that news.

Big Brother 18 Spoilers: Week 8 Veto Competition Results:
  • Victor won the Power of Veto!
James, Nicole, and Paul joined Victor (HoH) with Corey and Paulie (noms) to battle it out. This was the Zingbot comp and James says they had the same comp last year. It was something with a “Zingbot for President” theme. James won $5K and Paul has a punishment. Nicole won a vacation, but says she’ll give it to Corey. Sounds like it came down to James & Victor. James says Victor gave him the okay to take the cash.
Paulie says he’ll try to get Victor to save Corey and renom someone else so he can campaign because he won’t campaign against Corey. Paul, James, and Natalie all confirmed there’s no further discussion. Paulie will be evicted on Thursday night. His future in the game relies on the Round Trip ticket or maybe whatever that mysterious Friday night episode will be.

What a comeback it’s been for Victor Arroyo on Big Brother 18 as his Battle Back domination has lead to three HoHs between him and ally Paul Abrahamian in the past three weeks with only Corey snagging the DE HoH in between their hand offs. Now the “Sitting Ducks” duo (yes, that’s their name) has picked a side to continue to their quest to win Big Brother.
Paulie and Victor plot their next moves on BB18
On Thursday night after the Double Eviction was over we saw Paul and Victor meet up in the Storage room to celebrate their success in navigation the night’s dangers. Both agreed they were sitting pretty in the middle and needed to wait and see who would win HoH that night for the next week to decide which side to take. Well that debate is over.
I was surprised when I saw Victor snagged the HoH win after it sounded like they wanted to play the middle of the road but having safety for the week isn’t a bad thing on its own. With the power to control the next round of nominations and set the target they guaranteed themselves the chance to shape the rest of the season with the right “big move.”
As they stood in the middle of two groups they had a choice to make. Paulie, Corey, & Nicole on one side then James, Natalie, & Michelle on the other offered two very different paths ahead. Clearly they’ve decided to join the latter.
Victor put Corey and Paulie up on the Block to make their choice clear and there is likely no going back, but they’re okay with that. Last night (Flashback to 7:15 PM BBT 8/12) Victor and Paul discussed they would much rather go in to a F5 competing against HGs like Michelle, Natalie, and James than against Paulie, Corey, and Nicole. It’s a sound argument. The comp wins are definitely in Paulie’s trio though most are with Paulie and he could be gone at the end of this week.
Jump forward to this morning (Flashback to 11:48 PM BBT 8/13) as Paul checks in with Victor letting him know that after the big house blow-up Paulie was trying to work James over to be the pivot vote and flip the plan on them if either Paulie or Corey comes down. Nicole, Corey, and Paulie would need a third vote at that point but don’t have it right now and likely won’t.
Victor reiterates that they’re in the perfect spot this week. He says they’ve got James, “who now knows he’s been lied to,” and Nicole who would only save Corey so they know only Paulie will save Paulie. But if Paulie comes down then they agree Corey must go. So what about moving forward?
Victor has a plan. He definitely wants Paulie out first then they need to make sure Corey is gone but at that point he wants to “turn the guns” on James instead of Nicole. Paul doesn’t like that idea. He says if they get Paulie and Corey out then Nicole will “come for vengeance.” Victor thinks that’s another big move they need to make.
Paul counters that they focus on Corey next then let someone else in the group win HoH and take out Nicole. Then it’s time for James to go and either Paul or Victor could try to win HoH to make that happen. Victor agrees with Paul’s proposal.
Their master plan? Get to the Final 3 with Michelle, perhaps as their own personal Victoria. If they get to the end against her then their chances would be pretty good should they really want to reach the end with each other, but do you think either would risk that? Hmm.
Paul and Victor are playing a very strong game right now, but how many strong games have we seen toppled already this summer on Big Brother 18? Plenty. They could do it, but things are never as easy in practice as they are in theory.

Welcome to “One Night in Karazhan,” Hearthstone’s long-awaited fourth adventure. And since I’ve been watching the online discussion and watched in horror as the reference has sailed right over all of your heads: The name is a reference to the song “One Night in Bangkok,” from the Broadway musical Chess.

Oooooh! Yes, Murray Head’s 1985 #3 Billboard hit is from a Broadway musical about the board game of chess. So that’s what’s with the chess motif! And the animated forks and plates are references to Beauty and the Beast. In the next set where you fight “Romulo and Julianne‎” to obtain a card named “Pompous Thespian,” that’s a reference to Shakespeare, and in fact the whole damn adventure right down to the new battlefield with an actual stage in the upper left corner is all about the theater! You know, the theater where they sing about Alexander Hamilton? I swear, if it doesn’t happen on the Internet for you people, it doesn’t happen at all. You all get an “F” in culture.

Anyway, I’m going to be live-blogging through Hearthstone’s Karazhan a wing at a time as they open right along with the rest of you, just because I care that much. I’ll be sharing what worked for me to get through the adventures, but not heroic mode. You’re all on your own when you play heroic. I care beans about card backs, and if you do, you should have the sweat of monkeying them out yourself.

The Prologue is basically an over-powered crazy-fest. Just use all your stuff in your provided deck, it’s easy to win.

# Cards: Enchanted Raven, Firelands Portal

Moroes is laid off from voicing M.C. duties at Disney’s Haunted Mansion.

Act 1: The Parlor

Silverware Golem: Hero power “Be Our Guest” Use Shaman midrange. Lightning Storm is good against summoned 1/1 plates. Maintain board control, use Doomhammer to keep the numbers down, and it should be easy.

# Cards: Deadly Fork, Silverware Golem

Magic Mirror: Its hero power “Reflections” works for both sides! Does not work on non-creature summons or hero power tokens. Midrange Shaman won again, focus on Fire Elemental, Unbound Elemental, Tunnel Trogg, and big butt minions. Magic Mirror starts strong but runs out of gas way too fast.

# Cards: Arcane Anomaly, Pantry Spider

Chess: Believe it or not, you play with two custom chess decks. You win in the long run. Early game, discover Pawns for defense. Middle game, use Knights with charge to take out enemy heavies. Late game, just keep discovering Queens. Play Pawns to the far left since the opponent’s hero power only destroys the left-most piece.

# Cards: Ivory Knight, Protect the King, Arcanosmith, Cloaked Huntress, Moroes

Class challenges:

Silverware Golem vs Priest: Considering the backlash, it’s a really lousy idea to put Purify in my hand right now. Priest’s deck is indeed pathetic; mulligan for Cleric, ram plates and heal to draw, try to survive until decent legendaries come out. Big butts win. Use Purify to silence Moat Lurker’s deathrattle. Long, boring, dull, dragged out game, like Priest always is. Excavated Evil is your only out.

# Cards: Priest of the Feast

Magic Mirror vs Shaman: Despite the curiously underpowered deck that tries to make use of the beast / dragon / murloc synergy minions, victory isn’t hard at all. Just keep board control and bang away when you have an opening.

# Cards: Maelstorm Portal

My take-away on the cards:

[Enchanted Raven] – Obviously a 2/2 for 1 is good. Feels like it belongs in Warlock Zoo. Trouble is, Druid doesn’t Zoo very well. Maybe in Druid Tokens.

[Firelands Portal] – Tentative one-of in Freeze Mage. Even for the effect, 7 mana is a lot and it competes with Flamestrike’s slot.

[Deadly Fork] – Well, it is 9 total damage for 3 mana. I’m trying it in my non-Miracle Aggro Rogue build.

[Silverware Golem] – At first I headed straight for my Warlock Zoo deck with visions of not having to agonize over casting Doomguard dancing in my head. Then I stopped because I didn’t know what to take out for it. Surely not Darkshire Councilman or Imp Gang Boss! And then I realized even if I cast it for free off a discard, a 3/3 vanilla bear has no place in Zoo.

[Arcane Anomaly] – I can’t imagine anyplace for this but Priest, which likes big butts. Stop singing now.

[Pantry Spider] – I’ve seen this one running around in a few decks already. Possibly good in Hunter Midrange. Good combo with Defender of Argus or Sunfury Protector. I’ve had OK results in Warlock Zoo.

[Ivory Knight] – Definitely a good value card in Paladin. Just maybe not what Paladin needs right now to pull out of the lower ranks.

[Protect the King!] – Warrior Midrange should love it. Unleash the Hounds is already a card in Hunter builds, and this is comparable. I’ve already seen a Warrior unleash this one against my Zoo deck and it hurt.

[Moroes] – Again, seems like it should be perfect in Warlock Zoo. I’ve had OK results with this. It’s no Imp gang Boss or even Imp Master, but the Stealth helps it survive and the constant token spam makes happy friends with Knife Juggler.

[Arcanosmith] – I’m calling it pretty fair. It doesn’t look like much at first, but the free 0/5 taunt gets better when pumped.

[Cloaked Huntress] – God help us all if Secret Hunter re-climbs the ladder. As it is, even my Midrange Hunter doesn’t run enough secrets to make this worthwhile.

[Priest of the Feast] – The 3/6 part is actually its saving grace. The ability is meh; it requires you to cast Priest spells, which mostly stink.

[Maelstrom Portal] – Tentative one-of in my Midrange Shaman, which is a laboratory of experimental cards right now. I don’t predict there will be many times when I’m overjoyed to topdeck it. Maybe more controlling builds with Azure Drake will see better use for it.
Yeah, that’s all for now, kids! Overall, this has been a top-notch expansion so far. The whining crybaby-storm over the past two weeks that has taken over the Internet complaining about Priest cards evaporated the day Karazhan dropped, thank the Old Gods. It’s a fun expansion to play and the cards from it are fun to test.
